To get FASTag you can reach out to nearest POS (point of sale) counters at Toll Plaza, RTOs (Regional Transport offices) or even petrol pumps. FASTag services can also be availed at some leading banks of India with some minimum charges of Rs. 499. When you get FASTag you have two options- either to link it to your prepaid account so that you’re able to recharge it as per your convenience or you can directly link it to your bank account. 

How to get a Fastag Car ?

To get a FASTag on your second hand car all you need to do is follow a simple procedure:-

  • First you need to visit website of any bank that provides FASTag services. Some of the leading banks are AU Small Finance Bank, Axis Bank Ltd, Central Bank of India, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank etc. 
  • Once you click on the Apply Now button you will be redirected to a page where you will be asked to provide necessary details like name, mobile number and an identification proof such as Aadhar card, PAN card, driving license etc.
  • Once all your details are verified you will be asked to pay a certain amount as registration fees, depending upon your vehicle class.
  • After your payment is approved, you will receive a copy of your reference number along with a FASTag receipt on your registered mobile number.
  • FASTag will be delivered to your registered address as soon as the bank approves your application and details. And once your balance gets insufficient you can easily recharge your FASTag easily.

What are the documents required to get FASTag online ?

To get FASTag you require the following documents to have a seamless experience:

  • Your vehicle’s registration certificate (RC)- It is a compulsory requirement to provide evidence of ownership of the vehicle for which you wish to get FASTag issued.
  • KYC documents for identification and residency proof like PAN Card, Driving License or Aadhar Card.
  • Passport-sized Photo: You require a latest, clear passport sized picture of the owner of the vehicle. 
  • Duty Filled Application Form: A duly filled application form which is issued by the bank or service provider is required.  

How to activate FASTag on a second hand car ?

  • To activate FASTag on a second hand car, the new owner of the vehicle must contact the FASTag issuer and ensure that the previous owner has deactivated or closed their FASTag account. 
  • By doing this the FASTag would no longer be attached to the vehicle and can be easily used by the new owner.
